The colour & how it's made

Logwood & iron natural dye — Noticed workshop, Bali
Black · Logwood & iron (Haematoxylum)

Our black is coaxed, not printed. Logwood heartwood is bloomed in the vat and shifted with a touch of iron until grey turns to a deep, soft natural black — quiet and dimensional, never flat.

Noticed by Snugbrandwear International — handmade, natural, traceable.

100% GOTS-certified organic cotton, 220gsm heavyweight jersey. Relaxed unisex fit with a boxy shoulder. Between sizes? Size down for a trimmer fit.

Mordanted with plant tannins, then dipped by hand and oxidized in open air. Repeated until the depth is right, then cold-cured and shade-dried.

Cold hand-wash separately, dry in shade. Natural dyes soften and deepen with age — a living color, not a flat print.

Made to order and dispatched in 7–10 days via carbon-neutral, plastic-free shipping. Free over $120. 30-day returns on unworn pieces.

Our craft

From plant to piece

Every Noticed colour is made by hand in our Bali workshop. Here's the journey it takes — no synthetics, no shortcuts.

01
Harvest — Noticed workshop, Bali

Harvest

Roots, hulls and leaves, gathered by hand.

02
The vat — Noticed workshop, Bali

The vat

Simmered slow until the dye comes alive.

03
Mordant — Noticed workshop, Bali

Mordant

Cotton bound with plant tannins so colour holds.

04
The dip — Noticed workshop, Bali

The dip

Lowered into the vat by hand, again and again.

05
Oxidise — Noticed workshop, Bali

Oxidise

Lifted to the air — the colour deepens and sets.

06
Cure — Noticed workshop, Bali

Cure

Rinsed cold, dried in shade. Then it is yours.
